This rare ‘67 911S Soft Window unrestored, highly original 911S was bought new from Bob Smith Porsche in Hollywood, California; and owned in the late 60's by Simon & Garfunkel's longtime producer Roy Halee. Paul Simon himself borrowed the car to drive to their concerts when they were playing back east.

The 911S found itself back in California in the early 70's when it was bought by singer-songwriter Van Morrison's brother-in-law Buzz Rigsby. Van Morrison married the owner's sister--Janet Planet, an original San Francisco 'flower child'. And, btw, Van Morrison wrote ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ for Buzz’s sister!

The Porsche remained with the Rigsby's for close to 45 years, the first 20 in Marin County and the remainder on Mercer Island in Seattle where it was only used dry days (insert joke here).

Owners Buzz and Bunny kept the car under a special cover in their garage but never obsessed over it. I've left it almost exactly as found--I highly value it for its long-earned patina. I drive it regularly up through the Interior of British Columbia and it's a true delight, especially with the back window folded down so you can hear that amazing whine of an early 'S' as it heads up to its 7,200 redline. I drove it over 3,400 miles to LA and back to Luft5 during the summer of 2018. It drove flawlessly.

It’s all numbers matching and had its engine rebuilt in the 80’s by a top Porsche shop in Marin. That was around 20,000 miles ago. I put 1 liter on oil in it on my 3,400 mile trip. The engine drips a bit of oil, and smokes a bit on startup but I’ve been told that they all do so I’ve just left it. And that it drives as good as a new, never taken apart, 911 should.

I put new tires on it; and it comes with its original tool bag, books, tonneau cover, roof bag, etc. A rich history file is included. It has all five of its very rare 4 1/2” first year Fuchs..

SOLD to first person that saw and drove her!
